Abstract

Vulvar cancer represents a significant challenge in gynecological oncology, with limited treatment options and poor prognosis in advanced stages. The development of targeted drug delivery systems using nanotechnology has emerged as a promising approach to improve therapeutic efficacy while minimizing systemic toxicity. This comprehensive review examines the current state of nanotechnology based drug delivery systems for vulvar cancer treatment. We discuss various nanoplatforms including nanoparticles, liposomes, dendrimers, and micelles, their physicochemical properties, and their applications in delivering chemotherapy, hormonal agents, and immunotherapeutic agents. This review synthesizes evidence from preclinical and clinical studies, highlighting the challenges and opportunities in translating these technologies from bench to bedside. Our findings demonstrate that nanotechnology based approaches significantly enhance drug bioavailability, reduce off target effects, and improve patient outcomes. Future perspectives focus on personalized medicine, combination therapies, and regulatory pathways for clinical implementation of these innovative delivery systems.
